2025 Main Street Matters Awards
BEDCO recently received two grant awards through the PA Department of Community and Economic Development's (PA DCED) Main Street Matters Program!
The SouthSide Arts District (SSAD) Planning Grant will help in formulating a comprehensive plan for the program’s operation and develop a forward-looking Five-Year Strategic Plan that will be incorporated into a future application for Main Street designation.
The Business Improvement Grant will fund small business improvement grants in certain corridors across the City of Bethlehem. Funds will go to capital purchases; structural or interior improvements; hardware, software, and connectivity upgrades; or professional marketing and promotions services.

SouthSide Arts District
The SouthSide Arts District was approved for a Planning Grant to begin development of an application for official Main Street designation. SSAD is seeking to enhance its capacity to manage and guide the district’s significant growth in a manner that sustains local character, strengthens the arts community, and supports a diverse business environment.
Business Improvement Grants
"BEDCO BIG Program"
BEDCO's Business Improvement Grant (BIG) Program offers up to $5,000 to small businesses in defined commercial corridors.
This dollar-for-dollar match will assist with projects related to interior or exterior improvements, equipment purchases, or marketing campaigns.
